Description Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff with a high level of courtesy and professionalism.
- Accurately manage patient registration, check-in, and check-out processes using EPIC or equivalent EHR system.
- Schedule, confirm, and modify patient appointments in compliance with office guidelines.
- Verify and update patient insurance, demographics, and billing information.
- Answer phones and respond to inquiries, redirect calls as needed, and relay messages promptly.
- Collect co-pays and process payments accurately.
- Handle confidential information in line with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor waiting room activity and maintain a comfortable, welcoming environment.
- Support clinical and administrative staff with various office tasks as requested.
- Address patient questions and concerns with empathy and resourcefulness, escalating complex issues as appropriate.
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a healthcare customer service capacity.
- Proficient in EPIC or a similar healthcare software platform is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experienced in handling high call volumes and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal/customer service skills; able to build positive rapport with patients and staff.
- Detail-oriented with solid organizational and time management abilities.
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and HIPAA guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification is a plus.
