Description Robert Half is partnered with a growing New Orleans law firm in search of a detail-oriented and organized Accountant. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in managing financial records, overseeing billing processes, and ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards. Your expertise will contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. Responsibilities:
- Record and maintain daily financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Oversee the firm's billing processes, including invoice generation, account tracking, and timely client communication.
- Manage accounts receivable and coordinate payment collection efforts.
- Collaborate with the legal team to facilitate accurate time-tracking and preparation of client invoices.
- Reconcile accounts regularly to verify payment accuracy and address discrepancies.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive financial reports to support business decision-making.
- Manage the general ledger and assist with year-end audit preparations.
- Administer payroll, employee benefits, and associated financial tasks.
- Update and maintain internal financial systems to ensure data integrity.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and organizational policies in all financial activities.
- At least three years of experience in bookkeeping or a similar financial role, preferably within a law firm.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with excellent communication abilities.
- Solid problem-solving skills and capacity to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, and applicable laws.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks independently while maintaining accuracy.
