Summary:
The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is responsible for coordinating the timely pickup and delivery of containers from the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. This position ensures all shipments are managed efficiently and customers receive exceptional communication and service throughout the process.

- Respond to all customer inquiries in a courteous and effective manner.
- Check Carson terminal systems for drayage availability.
- Review PierPass for container pulls from terminals.
- Track and trace containers to ensure on-time movement.
- Understand customs procedures for filing PTT’s to ensure compliance with import, storage, and export documentation requirements.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, or other documentation.
- Answer customer questions regarding container or LCL shipment statuses.
- Perform accurate data entry using Excel spreadsheets and other internal systems.
- Generate and send invoices to customers for services rendered.
- Contact terminals for any container-related issues.
- Create daily customer reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Schedule pickup appointments for import loads and return of empty containers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities
- Strong clerical, administrative, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Effective problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and a strong team player.
- Advanced 10-key typing and accurate data entry.
- Ability to follow directions and handle multiple priorities.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience, preferably in logistics, transportation, or distribution.
- Experience in a distribution or fulfillment environment preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Experience with Trinium and Dray Dog is a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and professionalism.
- Ability to train or cross-train others as needed.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and situations.
