Responsibilities
1. Commercial Leadership & Growth
Own and execute the Spain and EU go-to-market strategy, driving institutional client acquisition and revenue growth.
Develop senior relationships with institutional counterparties, including digital asset funds / asset managers, proprietary trading firms, family offices, brokers and exchanges, and financial institutions and fintechs.
Originate and advance opportunities across the company's prime services: execution, liquidity, clearing / settlement workflows, custody partnerships, and financing.
2. Regulatory & Licensing (Spain / EU)
Support and help drive CNMV engagement and MiCA CASP licensing, acting as the primary interface with regulators as appropriate.
Coordinate regulatory workstreams with internal stakeholders (legal, compliance, operations) and external counsel / advisors.
Manage timelines, documentation readiness, and cross‑functional alignment for regulatory submissions and follow‑ups.
3. Partnerships & Ecosystem Development
Establish and manage EU strategic partnerships (e.g., banks, custodians, payment providers, fintech / crypto infrastructure providers).
Identify partnership opportunities that strengthen market access, distribution, product capability, and regulatory resilience.
4. Building the EU Platform
Support the setup and growth of THE COMPANY's EU entity and local team (hiring support, operating model, key vendor relationships).
Act as a bridge between EU operations and global HQ—ensuring alignment on strategy, product priorities, compliance, and execution.
Requirements
8-15 years of experience in financial services, digital assets, fintech, or capital markets.
Strong working knowledge of Spanish and EU regulatory environments (CNMV exposure strongly preferred).
Proven ability to engage regulators and senior stakeholders with credibility, structure, and professionalism.
Demonstrated track record in business development, growth, or revenue ownership in institutional markets.
Experience in one or more of: Prime brokerage, brokerage, clearing, capital markets infrastructure; Crypto exchanges, brokers, custodians, or institutional crypto infrastructure.
Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
Nice to Have
Direct experience with CNMV, VASP registration, or MiCA CASP licensing.
Existing network among regulators, law firms, auditors, or compliance advisors in Spain / EU.
Deep understanding of prime brokerage concepts: liquidity, margin, financing, collateral, risk.
Experience launching or scaling a regulated business in the EU (0→ 1).
