Overview
Join the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System as a Neurologist to provide comprehensive patient care and education. The VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System is recruiting a Staff Physician (Neurologist) responsible for patient care, patient/family education, and participation in clinical research in the Neurology Service. This position is eligible for recruitment/relocation incentives and the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive care for patients with illnesses within the scope of neurology, covering all phases of ambulatory care. Educate medical students and residents and/or supervise other providers. Devote the majority of time to patient care and education with remaining time for performance improvement activities, research to improve patient care, and maintaining proficiency in state-of-the-art neurology care. Recruitment/Relocation Incentive may be authorized for highly qualified individuals. Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) eligible. Learn more: program details and eligibility requirements per VHA policy. You must meet specific eligibility requirements and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Compensation and Benefits
Pay:
Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases. Paid Time Off:
50-55 days per year (26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 federal holidays, and up to 5 days CME). Retirement:
Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401(k) with up to 5% VA contributions. Insurance:
Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many programs can be carried into retirement). Liciensure:
1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory. CME:
Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (full-time with board certification). Malpractice:
Free liability protection with tail coverage. Contract:
No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting. Work Schedule and Location

TBD (Typically M-F, 0800-1630 CST). Location:

Licensure:
1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory. Education:
