Litigation and Bankruptcy Secretary

Salary:
$110,000–$130,000 annually, based on experience

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Litigation and Bankruptcy Secretary to provide high-level administrative and legal support to attorneys in a fast‑paced law firm environment. This role requires strong knowledge of litigation and bankruptcy procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with precision and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive administrative support to litigation and bankruptcy attorneys.
Prepare, revise, proofread, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and bankruptcy filings.
Handle electronic and manual court filings in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts, including CM/ECF.
Manage attorney calendars, schedule hearings, depositions, meetings, and deadlines.
Monitor and docket court deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules.
Coordinate service of process and filings with courts, clients, and opposing counsel.
Maintain and organize case files (electronic and physical).
Assist with trial preparation, including exhibits, binders, and witness materials.
Handle time entry, billing coordination, and expense reports.
Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and internal staff.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of experience as a litigation secretary, with bankruptcy experience required.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and bankruptcy court rules and procedures.
Proficiency with CM/ECF and legal document management systems.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
Excellent typing, proofreading, and formatting skills.
Ability to manage multiple attorneys and prioritize competing deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Fully onsite position in San Francisco.
