Overview Position: Armed Security Officer (SPO) – full‑time or part‑time shifts. Reports to Operations Manager. One opening.

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide visual deterrence against wrongful acts against clients’ employees, customers, and property.

Understand company policies and successfully execute post orders.

Conduct access control package screening (X‑ray machine).

Perform personnel screening (hand wands / magnetometers).

Process traffic control visitors.

Inspect vehicles.

Communicate and dispatch incidents.

Patrol areas inside and outside the facility.

Respond to emergencies and events.

Stand, walk, sit, squat, stretch, and bend throughout the workday.

Wear uniform, equipment, and grooming correctly.

Qualifications

Eligible to work in the United States and willing to undergo a full background and personal reference check.

Capable of making rational and reasonable decisions during tense, uncertain, rapidly evolving situations.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in law enforcement, military police, or professional correctional officer experience.

High school diploma or equivalency; collegiate academic coursework or an AA/AS degree is preferred.

Current SPO (Armed) license issued by the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Security Officers Management Branch (SOMB).

Carry a current 9mm caliber semiautomatic pistol and a “Qualified” card signed and dated by a certified firearm instructor.

Certified to carry pepper spray (Oleoresin Capsicum).

Possess a current “CPR/First Aid” card issued by the American Red Cross or equivalent.

Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands

Frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, and stooping up to 12 hours per day, either indoors or outdoors.

Subdue violent or potentially violent or disturbed individuals or intervene in a crisis.

Maintain physical stamina in all forms (mental, climatic, etc.) as a fundamental requirement.

Occasional running, sprinting, lifting heavy weights, moving heavy objects, and climbing stairs.
