Mid‑Level Associate (3–7 years) – Tax Disputes & Litigation Team, Boston, MA
Base Pay Range $230,000.00–$325,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
You’ll work on complex state and local tax disputes at all stages—from audit through administrative appeal and litigation.
Prepare and conduct discovery, draft pleadings, and manage trial preparation and audit defense.
Write and file motions, liaise with clients, and collaborate with a close‑knit team.
Contribute to firm initiatives and shape the future of our practice.
Desired Experience
Significant experience with state tax controversy and litigation.
Familiarity with key state tax issues such as corporate income tax, sales and use tax, apportionment, addback statutes, and high‑net‑worth individual residency disputes.
Litigation experience including discovery, drafting pleadings, trial preparation, audit defense, and motion writing.
Excellent writing, advocacy, and client‑management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a close‑knit team.
Strong interest in professional development with a path toward partnership.
Requirements
JD from an ABA‑accredited law school.
3–7 years of experience in state tax controversy and litigation.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage competing responsibilities.
Professionalism in engaging with clients and colleagues.
