Responsibilities
Clinical – 90%
Growth of the clinical practice.
Fostering new clinical initiatives with the Health System.
Continued development of Advanced Endoscopy services.
Actively participate in the teaching activities in support of students, residents, and fellows.
Developing relationships with the community that promote the academic mission.
Conduct a set number of half‑day clinics per week in the Gastroenterology faculty practice site; a set number of half‑day block endoscopy time; and a set number of GI consult services.
Teaching – 10%
Educate fellows, residents, and students.
Required Qualifications
Doctorate degree from an accredited institution and board‑eligibility or board‑certification in GI.
Assistant Professor – Early level career as an academic faculty member with appropriate postgraduate training.
Associate Professor – Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or comparable experience.
Professor – Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable experience.
All candidates must meet the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements for institutional accreditation, demonstrate ability as a teacher and scholar, and possess the personal qualities judged during interview and review of biographical data and recommendations.
Salary and Benefits This position is fiscal‑year based and works year‑round. The intended work commitment or full‑time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full‑time.
Assistant Professor – Salary and compensation commensurate with education, experience, and achievements; subject to availability of funds.
Associate Professor – Salary and compensation commensurate with education, experience, and achievements; subject to availability of funds.
Professor – Salary and compensation commensurate with education, experience, and achievements; subject to availability of funds.
