Base Pay Range
$28.00/hr - $33.00/hr
Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable Accountant to join our accounting team. This role is heavily focused on Accounts Payable operations initially, while offering a clear and intentional transition into a Staff Accountant role over time. The ideal candidate will bring deep AP experience, a solid accounting foundation, and advanced Excel skills, with a desire to grow into broader general ledger and financial reporting responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle accounts payable processing, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and timely payment
Ensure accurate expense classification and compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Perform vendor statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Maintain and manage vendor records, including W-9s and 1099 reporting support
Monitor AP aging and assist with cash flow planning
Support audits by providing AP documentation and reconciliations
Identify and implement process improvements to increase AP efficiency and accuracy
Assist with month‑end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Support general ledger maintenance and ensure accurate financial data
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and assist with variance analysis
Participate in financial reporting and ad hoc accounting projects
Assist with fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accruals as responsibilities expand
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support accounting and finance initiatives
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of accounting experience (e.g., GL, month‑end close, reconciliations)
5+ years of Accounts Payable experience, including full-cycle AP
Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles (GAAP preferred)
Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs, and data analysis
High attention to detail with strong organizational and time‑management skills
Ability to handle high‑volume AP in a deadline‑driven environment
