We are seeking a Fund Accountant to join a growing, entrepreneurial hybrid PE fund, working closely with the CFO and two Controllers on a lean, high‑visibility finance team. This individual will play a key role in the firm’s finance and reporting functions—including fund accounting, financial and investor reporting, and coordination with the fund administrator and external partners—while gaining broad exposure across private equity and hedge‑style vehicles, management company accounting, trading operations, and key firm‑wide initiatives as the platform scales.
Base pay range: $100,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr
Location: Union County, NJ
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations, including NAV calculations, and reconcile to the fund administrator’s records across a master‑feeder structure and various co‑investment vehicles. Support the preparation and review of timely and accurate management and financial information for the firm’s funds (e.g., valuations, performance estimates, month‑end NAV, partnership allocations, investor K-1s, audit and tax deliverables). Assist in managing all aspects of the finance function for a registered investment adviser, including coordination with auditors, tax providers, and the fund administrator. Ensure fund accounting records comply with appropriate accounting policies as well as applicable regulatory and tax requirements. Handle invoice processing, expense allocations, and bookkeeping in QuickBooks for management company entities, including support for financial reporting, tax, and audit. Help enhance and maintain internal processes, controls, and documentation as the firm continues to grow. Candidate Profile
At least 2+ years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in fund accounting, public accounting (asset management clients), or a buy‑side finance role. Experience with private equity and/or credit funds is preferred; real estate or real assets exposure is a plus. CPA candidate or CPA preferred. Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required, with a strong academic track record (Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred). Hybrid – 3 days in office in New Jersey.
