SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking an experienced aircraft Loads and Flutter Engineer to support a variety of aerospace development programs. As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will provide technical expertise and develop solutions to support the design, analysis, and certification of new aircraft, aircraft modifications, and space launch vehicles. Working independently and as part of small, fast-moving teams on advanced development projects, you’ll find your collaboration and communication skills are an essential part of the job. You will perform a wide variety of analyses, support testing, and prepare documentation for aircraft and spacecraft that push the boundaries of what’s possible in aerospace today.
EXPECTATIONS:
Specific tasks may include any or all of the following:
Perform quasi-static maneuver loads analysis for aircraft and launch vehicles
Perform dynamic gust and turbulence analysis for aircraft and launch vehicles
Perform static and dynamic ground analyses for aircraft and launch vehicles
Perform aircraft flutter analysis including propeller whirl flutter
Support flight and ground test planning, execution, and data reduction (flight load survey, flutter envelope expansion, ground vibration, static test, qual & acceptance testing)
Prepare aerodynamic databases for use in external loads and dynamics analyses.
Support wind tunnel test planning, execution, and data reduction
Develop aeroelastic analysis models including the integration of closed-loop control systems
QUALIFICATIONS:
Understanding of aerospace engineering principles and concepts.
Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a closely integrated team environment.
Must possess comfort and skill with basic programs including Microsoft Office.
Programming experience in MATLAB, Python, and PERL is desirable.
Experience in aircraft or spacecraft static loads, dynamic loads, or flutter analysis is required.
Familiarity with MSC Nastran, Patran, FEMAP, ZAERO, or comparable tools is a plus.
LOCATION:
The work is located in Seattle, WA, and will be primarily a hybrid-based work environment, which consists of both onsite and work-from-home options. Each project would be dependent upon the role and experience. Applicants should be prepared to reside within a commuting distance of the Seattle area.
EXPERIENCE:
Loads and Dynamics Engineer: 5+ years of applied experience
EDUCATION:
B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
ITAR Compliance – U.S. Persons Requirement:
Applicants must be able to show proof of U.S. citizenship or a ‘Green Card’ as part of the ability to meet ITAR Compliance standards. TLG Aerospace is an ITAR (International Traffic in Arms) defense manufacturing partner facility that works with government/federal military parts, and military schematic drawings and performs defense services that require our company to ask about U.S. Persons status as part of the verification during the pre-hire process.

SALARY:
The base pay for this position ranges from $112,000 to $165,000 per year. Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based on candidate experience, qualifications, and market and business considerations.
