Advanced Manufacturing Engineer II – Capex
at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize production processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to achieve operational excellence. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and work out of our Minneapolis, MN location on a 100% onsite work schedule.
You will impact the efficiency and quality of our manufacturing operations by optimizing production processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Your expertise will help us stay at the forefront of advanced manufacturing technologies and ensure that we deliver innovative and high‑quality products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee advanced manufacturing processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and productivity.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize production processes and drive continuous improvement.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify and implement advanced manufacturing technologies.
Provide test and manufacturing support for Ring Laser Gyro (RLG) and Tactical Guidance Products (TGP) production.
Perform yield and performance data analysis to monitor process capability, product health trends, and drive yield improvements.
Utilize CAMP, Lean, and Six‑Sigma methodologies to govern engineering standard work practices.
Investigate and resolve technical issues, facilitate issue identification and analysis.
Develop improvements in product design and in the manufacturing and assembly processes for cost and cycle‑time reductions.
Assist development of new products.
Support test equipment knowledge and preventative maintenance plans to maintain factory capacity and efficient product flow.
Facilitate a self‑driven workforce culture to achieve RTY, BIQ, COPQ, and other SQDIC goals.
Test products & software.
Lead capital equipment (CAPEX) deployment initiatives, including justification, vendor selection, installation, qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), and production release.
Manage manufacturing‑related projects from concept through execution, coordinating timelines, resources, budgets, and cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
Provide technical leadership during equipment upgrades, line expansions, and process automation projects to support capacity, quality, and cost objectives.
Qualifications – YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
2+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing or process optimization.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing technologies, such as automation, robotics, and additive manufacturing.
Experience with data analysis and statistical process control.
Proficiency in manufacturing software tools and technologies relevant to process optimization.
Experience supporting capital equipment (CAPEX) projects, including equipment specification, implementation, and production handoff.
Demonstrated project management or technical leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, with the ability to drive projects across cross‑functional teams.
WE VALUE
Advanced Engineering degrees like ME, EE, Chemical Engineering or similar.
Product or process engineering experience.
Experience with Optics.
Ability to work in a cleanroom environment.
Ability to balance priorities in daily tasks and strategic projects.
Hands‑on work ethic. Initiative and ownership of responsibilities and actions.
Ability to partner and collaborate well with team members across functions.
Quickly and accurately identifying subtle interrelationships and patterns among a variety of problems and issues (process and data correlation of cause/effect across value stream).
