Potential candidates must reside in the Washington DC area
The successful candidate will work from home and will be dispatched to client sites in the Washington DC area to troubleshoot and resolve AV issues found in board rooms and conference rooms.
Description TEKsystems is looking for an AV Service Engineer to service their existing customers in the Washington DC area.
We seek well‑versed troubleshooters in Audio Video technology with experience working with major AV brands such as Crestron and Biamp.
The role involves in‑person troubleshooting of audio‑video systems found in executive board rooms and conference centers, and requires professionalism and strong customer‑interface skills.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Minimum of 7‑8 years of experience with AV integration and/or AV field service
Expertise in troubleshooting Crestron systems and related control platforms (Crestron DM and NVX / AMX)
Ability to reverse engineer legacy AV systems and debug newly built systems
Proficiency with a wide range of AV products including Extron, Biamp, QSC audio DSPs, Cisco, POLY, LOGITECH video conference systems, Luxul, NETGEAR, CISCO switches, and video wall solutions (Planar, UNILUMEN, LG, Samsung, Barco)
Experience in testing with multimeter, researching and specifying replacement products, and intermediate to advanced AV networking skills
Hands‑on cable and connector skills (crimping, soldering) with knowledge of signal flow and low‑voltage electrical concepts (Ohm’s law)
Strong customer‑service orientation and the ability to interface with enterprise customers regularly
Ability to conduct preventative maintenance testing, perform site surveys for service‑agreement quotes, and write concise service reports
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Capacity to manage multiple service projects and lead/mentor junior or intermediate field‑service technicians
Education and Certifications A two‑year diploma from a technical college or equivalent experience is required.
CTS certification or equivalent experience is highly preferred.
Experience 3+ years minimum field‑service experience.
Other Requirements
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Physical ability to stand, kneel, crouch for extended periods, climb ladders and scaffolding, and lift over 50 pounds
Job Type & Location This is a contract position based out of Washington, D.C., DC.
Compensation and Benefits Pay range: $40.00 – $55.00 /hr.
