Potential candidates must reside in the DFW area.

The successful candidate will work from home and will be dispatched to client sites in the DFW area to troubleshoot and resolve AV issues found in board rooms and conference rooms.

Description TEKsystems is looking for an AV Service Engineer to service their existing customers in the Dallas‑Fort Worth area. Candidates should be well‑versed troubleshooters in Audio‑Video technology with experience in major AV brands such as Crestron and Biamp. The role involves in‑person troubleshooting of audio‑video systems found in executive board rooms and conference centers and requires professional customer‑interfacing skills.

Qualifications

Minimum of 7‑8+ years of experience with AV integration and/or AV field service

AV troubleshooting – expertise with Crestron systems

Ability to reverse engineer legacy AV systems

Ability to debug newly built systems

Knowledge of the following products and systems:

Extron equipment

Biamp, QSC audio DSP products and systems

Cisco, POLY, LOGITECH video conference systems

Luxul, NETGEAR, Cisco switches

Video wall systems: Planar, UNILUMEN, LG, Samsung, Barco

Audio DSP systems including amplifiers, speakers, microphones

Projection display devices and systems

Digital signage equipment and systems

RF systems (analog and digital) to a lesser extent

Testing – experience with multi‑meter testing and troubleshooting

Research and specification of replacement products

Intermediate to advanced AV networking skills

Cabling and connectors: ability to crimp and solder

Advanced knowledge of signal flow and low‑voltage electrical concepts (e.g., Ohm’s law)

Customer interfacing – experience with regular customer service interactions

Custom control systems: Crestron DM, NVX, AMX; complex AV systems in executive spaces; video teleconferencing; AVoIP; and video wall equipment

Other Responsibilities

Conduct preventative maintenance testing

Perform site surveys related to service agreement quotes

Write concise service reports and system site surveys

Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills

Manage multiple service projects successfully

Lead and mentor junior/intermediate field service technicians

Education Two‑year diploma from a technical college or equivalent experience.

Certifications CTS certification preferred; equivalent experience acceptable.

Experience Minimum of 3 years in field service.

Other Requirements

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Ability to stand, kneel, or crouch for extended periods

Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding

Ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds

Skills Audiovisual, Cat6, audio, service, video conferencing, installation.

Job Type & Location Contract position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits Hourly rate: $40.00–$55.00.
