Required Experience and Education
Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
Experience: 1 year of pharmacy experience; English speaking, reading, writing
Licenses and Certifications: Eligible for licensure by Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) upon hire; Texas license within 30 days; BLS, ACLS, CPR certifications as required
Preferred Experience
1 year of pharmacy experience

Basic computer skills and data entry
Good general health and stress coping ability
Moderate physical effort: prolonged standing/walking, occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs., reaching, bending, crouching. OSHA Category III.

Job Duties
Perform job responsibilities in accordance with policies, procedures, and performance improvement objectives.
Accurate, thorough, and timely computer order entry; review medication profiles.
Review medication orders for therapeutic appropriateness, duplications, interactions, and safety.
Work independently with minimal supervision; make right decisions and effectively problem solve.
Enforce the formulary system and follow departmental policy when acquiring non-formulary products.
Communicate drug information verbally and in writing to physicians, nurses, and patients.
Assist in patient/family education and counseling regarding drug therapy and side effects.
Manage technicians and other supportive personnel; delegate, validate accuracy, and sign out controlled substances.
Actively enhance personal growth by participating in educational programs and new employee orientation.
Participate in clinical program; support P&T initiatives and monitor target drugs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
