Description
Governors State University is seeking to hire an Admissions Administrator for Events and Visitor Experience to be the primary architect and leader of the university's admissions events strategy. This role is responsible for designing, managing, and executing large-scale admissions events that drive enrollment and showcase the university to prospective students and their families. In addition, the position oversees the daily visitor experience through the campus tour program and Welcome Center, ensuring every guest receives a professional, engaging, and memorable introduction to the institution.
Essential Responsibilities
30% Maintains working knowledge of admissions process and all aspects of the campus tour/visit program including academic departments, athletics, financial aid, housing, leadership and student involvement and other resources ensuring information is routinely shared with staff, prospective/visiting students and families. Supports undergraduate admission goals, coordinates daily tours and on-campus admission events, recruits, trains, supervises, and schedules all student tour guides, updates presentation materials, delivers admissions presentations, manages CRM-related visit tasks.
30% Manages all components of the Welcome Center to ensure exceptional visitor experiences. Reinforces a culture of outreach and engagement, tracks campus department locations, assists with ID card issuance and student orientation.
10% Oversees and manages the Welcome Center staffing and customer service.
10% Conducts ongoing assessments of the tour route and campus visit experience, collaborates with the Associate Director of Admissions to advocate for visit changes based on data.
10% Promotes timely admission events on social media, monitors conversations, provides monthly reports.
5% Counsels prospects, applicants, and students on admissions policies by serving as a counselor on duty.
5% Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Salary Salary Range: $44,928 - $56,400. This is a non-unionized position. The position qualifies for an expansive suite of fringe benefits including insurance options, PTO, retirement and investment options, and tuition waivers.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required education and experience: 4 years (48 months) of college coursework, Bachelor’s degree preferred, progressively responsible work experience requiring organizing, assigning, and coordinating work of others.
Desired education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 3 years of related recruitment and events coordinating experience, knowledge of admissions best practices, experience supervising student employees or volunteers, professional experience using student information systems and/or CRM (Slate preferred).
Work Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a 60‑minute unpaid lunch. Ability to work some evenings and weekends as events and visits require flexibility.
