Supervisor of Admissions Events and Visitor Services Governors State University is seeking an Admissions Administrator for Events and Visitor Experience to lead the university’s admissions events strategy and oversee the daily visitor experience through the campus tour program and Welcome Center.

Responsibilities

Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the admissions process and all aspects of the campus tour/visit program, including academic departments, athletics, financial aid, housing, leadership, student involvement, and related resources.

Coordinate and enhance daily tours and on‑campus admission events to increase prospects, applications, and enrollments.

Recruit, train, supervise, and schedule student tour guides, ensuring an adequate number of trained guides.

Update presentation materials for admissions presentations before tours and recruitment programs; deliver admissions presentations.

Manage CRM‑related visit tasks, including scheduling tours, inputting prospective student data, monthly tour data reports, and forecasting tour frequency.

Manage all components of the Welcome Center to ensure exceptional visitor experiences and reinforce a culture of outreach and engagement.

Track and record campus department locations, services, and events to direct visitors and students; assist with issuance of GovState ID cards and orientation on their use.

Oversee and manage Welcome Center staff and customer service operations.

Conduct ongoing assessments of the tour route and campus visit experience, measure success, and revise according to survey results and departmental directives.

Collaborate with the Associate Director of Admissions to advocate for visit changes, tour schedules, and housing tours based on data.

Promote timely and important information regarding admission events across admissions and social media pages, actively monitor conversations, respond as needed, and provide monthly social media reports to supervisor.

Counsel prospects, applicants, and students on university admissions policies, procedures, and requirements as an admissions counselor on duty.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Executive Director of Admissions.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $44,928 - $56,400.

Non‑unionized position.

Required Qualifications

Any one or combination totaling four (4) years of relevant education or experience from the categories below.

Progressively more responsible work experience requiring organizing, assigning, and coordinating the work of others and disseminating information effectively.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Three years of related recruitment and events coordinating experience.

Knowledge of admissions and recruitment best practices in higher education.

Experience supervising student employees and/or volunteers.

Professional experience using student information systems and/or CRM (Slate preferred).

Work Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a 60‑minute unpaid lunch. Able to work some evenings and weekends as events and visits often require this flexibility.
