Project Engineer

Position Overview We are seeking a Project Engineer to support our High Voltage Distribution (HVD) Lines Engineering team and associated consulted design work. Due to a significant increase in spending within the HVD Lines Reliability budget, there has been a corresponding growth in capital and reliability-driven projects requiring engineering and design support.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are executed efficiently, on schedule, and within budget while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, manage, and coordinate engineering design plans for HVD Lines Reliability projects.
Support engineering and design activities for multiple concurrent projects.
Review and approve invoices related to contracted engineering and design services.
Track, analyze, and report project metrics, including schedule, budget, and quality KPIs.
Manage and process change orders, ensuring accurate documentation and proper approvals.
Oversee permit management to ensure compliance with all regulatory and jurisdictional requirements.
Serve as an engineering point of contact for the field by addressing and resolving technical questions during project execution.
Ensure AFC (Approved for Construction) documents are properly controlled and maintained in coordination with Document Control.
Required Qualifications
Strong understanding of project management principles and engineering design processes.
Experience supporting utility, transmission, or distribution-related engineering projects (high voltage preferred).
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, field, and contractor teams.
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Hybrid work arrangement with regular coordination across engineering, field, and contractor teams.
