Why Join Us?

High‑volume, varied docket

Work on a broad mix of files—general liability, auto, premises, construction defect, first‑party property, and commercial litigation—rather than being siloed into a single niche.

True insurance defense platform

Join one of Florida’s largest insurance defense operations, with longstanding relationships across major carriers, TPAs, and self‑insureds, giving you a steady flow of complex, defense‑side matters.

Trial and courtroom experience

Develop real litigation chops through motion practice, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and, where appropriate, serving as second‑ or first‑chair at trial in high‑exposure cases.

Collaborative, growth‑oriented culture

Work with a large team of defense‑side litigators, including partners who emphasize mentoring and training associates in strategy, case management, and client communication, within a culture that values collaboration and professional development.

Statewide footprint and stability

Benefit from the stability and resources of an established firm with multiple Florida offices and a long history in the insurance industry, offering internal mobility, cross‑office collaboration, and a diverse client base.

Responsibilities

Manage a litigation docket of insurance defense matters, including general liability, automobile, premises liability, and commercial claims from inception through resolution.

Handle first‑party property/coverage and PIP matters as assigned, including analysis of coverage, drafting coverage opinions, and litigating disputed claims.

Draft and argue dispositive and procedural motions, including motions to dismiss, summary judgment motions, discovery motions, and evidentiary motions.

Conduct and defend party, fact‑witness, and expert depositions, focusing on liability, causation, damages, and coverage issues.

Prepare case evaluations, reports, and budgets for insurers, TPAs, and self‑insured clients, communicating exposure, strategy, and settlement posture clearly and on time.

Represent clients at mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and, where appropriate, as second‑ or first‑chair at trial.

Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on case strategy, trial preparation, and client presentations, including coverage seminars and file reviews.

Ensure timely and accurate timekeeping, adhere to client billing guidelines, and assist with meeting team and firm productivity expectations.

Participate in internal training, mentoring initiatives, and, if desired, business development activities aimed at expanding relationships with existing and prospective insurance clients.

Qualifications

JD from an accredited law school.

Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar.

Approximately 3–7 years of civil litigation experience, with a strong preference for prior insurance defense, general liability, first‑party property, PIP, or commercial litigation experience.

Prior experience handling a litigation caseload, including drafting pleadings and motions, conducting written discovery, taking and defending depositions, and participating in mediations.

Comfort working directly with carrier and TPA clients, including preparing reports, evaluations, and budgets consistent with litigation guidelines.

Strong written and oral advocacy skills, with the ability to analyze complex facts, coverage issues, and medical records and present them in a clear, concise manner.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines across a high‑volume docket in a fast‑paced environment.
