The Data Analyst will work under the direct supervision of the College of Pharmacy, Professor, Dr. Park. Primary focus will be manipulating large healthcare claims data or electronic health records (e.g., data cleaning, creating variables), applying data mining techniques, performing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems integrated with large health care datasets. Candidate will assist faculty or students with statistical analysis on ongoing research or new research. Experience with statistical or data mining software (e.g., SAS, Stata, R, Python) and analyzing data from projects related to medication utilization and health outcomes is preferred. Duties Include

Data Management: perform database management, statistical analyses and data manipulation using SAS, R, Access and visual basic programming Data mining using state-of-the-art methods such as deep learning Enhance data collection procedures to include information relevant for building analytic systems Develop and implement programs to process and manipulate large datasets Provide data programming and analytic support on a range of research projects Prepare presentations and manuscripts Create automated anomaly detection systems and monitor performance Statistical Analysis: support study design, analysis plan, data collection, and grant applications Write statistical programming code in SAS (preferred), R, or STATA Conduct study reviews and ensure data security and quality monitoring Prepare study reports with tabular and graphical data presentations Support educational opportunities to help researchers and students in study design, data management, and study analysis Laboratory Management: interpret administrative regulations including HIPAA and policies related to statistical research studies Recommend new and improved programs to effectively manage studies Ensure laboratory staff compliance with HIPAA and other confidentiality standards Qualifications

Required:

Master's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience. Preferred: Experience with common data science and statistical toolkits (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB, SAS). Excellence in at least one is highly desirable Experience with large healthcare datasets including insurance claims data and electronic health records Proficiency in SQL Strong in applied statistics (distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.) Problem solving, adaptability, communication skills, teamwork Knowledge of data presentation software Collaborative experience in biomedical and public health research Application Details
