The Opportunity
Function as a subject matter specialist for pumping systems related to the design of mechanical systems supporting Water & Wastewater Treatment processes.
Contribute to projects related to Water and Wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and conveyance focused in Florida, as well as throughout the US.
Work collaboratively with various design engineering execution teams across the US and abroad with an emphasis on work in Florida.
Leverage technical expertise with leadership responsibilities by guiding design teams and mentoring early career professionals.
Engage directly with clients across Florida.

The Team The Mechanical Engineering Department is a global team that delivers high quality, on time design and services projects in the areas of Power, Gas, Fuels & Chemicals, Water and Wastewater, Data Centers, and Mining including everything mechanically related to Process and Power (from Conventional, Combined Heat and Power, Hydro, Hydrogen, Nuclear, Solar/Renewable, LNG, Ammonia, Fertilizer) projects to specialized Air Quality Control, HVAC, Fire Protection, Piping, Thermal and Renewable performance estimating and testing. The Water/Wastewater Treatment team is a part of our greater BV Operations department. BV’s Treatment team provides comprehensive drinking water, wastewater, industrial water, recycled water, and residual.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Design & Analysis: Perform engineering calculations and develop system performance parameters.
Leadership & Mentorship: Teach and guide engineers in system design best practices.
Collaboration & Coordination: Work with equipment manufacturers, other disciplines, and project stakeholders.
Quality Assurance: Review submittals and ensure compliance with B&V standards.
Client Engagement & Site Work: Conduct site visits for assessments and client interactions.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience developing detailed design and technical specifications for pumps and piping systems.
Knowledge and experience related to design, specification, and engineering tasks associated with pumping systems, plant hydraulics, blowers and aeration systems, anaerobic digestion, heating water boilers, heat exchangers, and steel piping systems.
Experience in material and component selection for pumping and piping systems.
Experience with identifying optimal pump sizing and selection for pump station facilities.
Experience with defining pump station operational control strategies/plans.
Strong understanding of hydraulic principles.
Proven ability to communicate complex information effectively through written documentation and verbal presentations.
Minimum Qualifications Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program in the home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 5 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search).
Certifications Professional Engineering license preferred.
Work Environment and Schedule
Typical office environment; prolonged periods of sitting and computer use; ability to maintain focus and attention to detail throughout the workday.
Physical tasks during site visits, including crouching, grasping and standing/walking for extended periods.
Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
Approximately 15 percent travel.
