What You’ll Do
Perform assignments in the analysis and design of water and wastewater treatment facilities, including advanced treatment/nutrient removal processes using BioWin process modeling software.
Prepare and review working drawings, details, layouts, cost estimates, studies, reports and work products.
Provide construction support and oversight including administration, limited inspection, and start‑up/operations support for treatment plants.
Review designs by others for conformance of design standards and support municipal water utility operations and maintenance teams.
Perform independent design tasks, review the designs of others, prepare bid documents including drawings and specifications, and organize all drawings, reports, calculations, and associated project deliverables under limited supervision.
Direct and manage a team of design engineers and/or technicians on water and wastewater projects.
Make sound engineering decisions, exercise initiative, judgment and knowledge commensurate with the responsibilities of the position.
Interface effectively with clients and local, state, and federal government agencies; lead project progress meetings, make project presentations, and provide clear written communications.
Additional duties may involve project management for projects.
Travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited school.
Minimum twelve (12) years of experience in the design and construction oversight of water and/or wastewater infrastructure facilities and projects.
Experience working on wastewater projects.
Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and insurable under Merrick’s insurance carrier.
Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Desired Qualifications
Master’s degree focusing on treatment processes.
Experience with water/sewer modeling, BioWin modeling, advanced treatment/nutrient removal, GIS systems.
Public works experience with local, state, or federal agencies.
Local candidates preferred (relocation available for the right fit).
Certifications
Professional Engineer (P.E.) State of Colorado and/or Texas.
