The VISTA project will build the capacity of Sustaining Way by helping the organization further develop community health related programs, events and initiatives in Nicholtown and other low income communities and helping to develop marketing efforts. This will include facilitating a community health survey, updating the Nicholtown asset map, recruiting and coordinating community health volunteers, developing methods to track impacts/measures, and building connectivity across and increasing engagement in community programs/initiatives both in person and online. All while collaborating with our partners to develop innovative solutions to community health.
Member Duties
Develop and document Sustaining Way’s community health-related programs/initiatives and identify and implement at least two community-based health solutions (or grow/strengthen two recently developed solutions) that help to address food security, energy burden, obesity, diabetes, heart-related illnesses, and/or hypertension.
Increase volunteer hours engaged by 20%.
