Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Domestic Cargo Coordinator to join their New York–based freight forwarding team. This role is responsible for coordinating domestic freight movements across the United States, ensuring timely pickups, deliveries, and accurate documentation while delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment and has a strong understanding of domestic transportation operations.
Base pay range $70,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr
Competitive salary up to $70,000, based on experience

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate domestic shipments via truckload (FTL), less-than-truckload (LTL), air, and intermodal carriers
Arrange pickups, deliveries, and linehaul movements while monitoring shipment progress
Communicate with carriers, drivers, warehouses, and customers to ensure on-time performance
Prepare, review, and maintain shipment documentation, including bills of lading and delivery confirmations
Track shipments and proactively resolve delays, exceptions, or service issues
Provide accurate shipment updates and cost information to customers
Ensure compliance with company procedures, transportation regulations, and safety standards
Assist with rate negotiations, carrier selection, and service optimization as needed
Maintain accurate shipment records in the transportation management system (TMS)
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in domestic freight coordination, logistics, or freight forwarding
Strong knowledge of U.S. domestic transportation modes and carrier operations
Excellent communication and customer service skills
High attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Proficiency with transportation management systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
