Summary Provides surveillance for infection control purposes. Identifies, investigates, and records data concerning nosocomial infections and infectious diseases. Initiates infection control measures as directed by infection control committee. Develops infection control policies and prevention programs.
Responsibilities
Maintain, record, track, and trend data concerning infections and infectious diseases.
Provide staff training and education.
Investigate and monitor known or potential sources of suspected infections to determine source and ensure control.
Use standard methods and criteria for identifying infections.

Clinical Lab Technologist License (TN License) – State of Florida (FL)

Additional educational qualifications: Registered/Professional Nursing, Epidemiology, or Microbiology program, or a Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH).

Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and EHR systems.
Required Work Experience:
One (1) year of relevant healthcare experience required.
Licensing:
Florida State licensure required for Registered Nurse or Clinical Lab Technologist. Licensure not required for Master of Public Health.
