Plaintiff Litigation Associate, Product Liability (to $250k + Bonus)
We are looking for a highly motivated Litigation Associate to join our national plaintiffs’ firm specializing in mesothelioma product liability litigation. This position is onsite at our Emeryville, CA office.
Compensation & Benefits:
Base salary target $120,000–$250,000, with flexibility to go higher for the right candidate. Bonus is performance‑based and tied to cases closed. Benefits include Health, Dental & Vision Insurance (all premiums paid for individual and family), Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, 401(k) with 3%+ employer contribution, 20 days paid time off, holidays, paid parking and more.
Travel:
Approximately 8 trips per month, mainly 1–2 night trips. Most travel is for deposits, trial preparation, client meetings, and occasional national trips.
About the firm:
A specialized national plaintiffs’ law firm with 70+ attorneys and 300 years of combined experience focused exclusively on mesothelioma (asbestos). We manage over 2,000 cases across all 50 states, aiming to maximize recovery for victims.
Responsibilities
Conduct written discovery, depositions, motion drafting, and advocacy.
Participate in trial as second chair; prior trial experience is advantageous but not required.
Manage a caseload of 15–18 cases, depending on complexity.
Collaborate with partners and teams to pursue trial aggressively.
Provide client interaction and support during challenging times.
Maintain strong research, writing, and advocacy skills.
Qualifications
J.D. from an ABA‑accredited institution and admission to the California Bar.
Experience in medical‑related litigation or personal injury preferred; no defense work.
Demonstrated research and writing proficiency.
Ability to build and sustain client relationships.
Self‑motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively.
Comfortable working under tight deadlines in a fast‑paced setting.
Dedication to plaintiff advocacy with sound judgement.
