SAP Basis is a purely IT / Technical function that entails understanding and supporting SAP applications and their underlying components such as databases, operating systems as well as any ancillary systems and native or third‑party interfaces that connect interact with SAP systems.
Responsibilities for this position
Provide assistance to end users, business users and functional personnel with varied issues of a technical nature that can arise
Be able to anticipate, plan and coordinate various tasks with SAP and SAP ECS
Communicate with business users, technical users and overall user community about any planned and unplanned activities
Being able to represent the SAP Basis team in various projects that can include SAP release upgrades, SP updates, HANA DB release updates and projects involving critical integrations with SAP
Support day‑to‑day business operations with respect to planned and/or ad‑hoc SAP Basis‑related events and issues
Being able to support an SAP environment that contains SAP S/4 HANA, SAP BW/4 HANA, SAP Solution Manager, SAP BTP, SAP Fiori, SAP Cloud Connector and various other SAP systems
Manage and configure Solution Manager and ChaRM as needed
Provide analysis and apply SAP notes as required
Manage SAP Service Requests and SAP Cases along with SAP ECS
Coordinate patching of OS/DB instances, kernel patching and other patching and configuration activities along with SAP ECS as required
Managing and coordinating SAP top issues
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree IT such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
At least 5 years of SAP Basis experience
Experience analyzing and troubleshooting technical issues
Experience working with SAP Netweaver‑based systems, SAP ECC, SAP BW, SAP S/4 HANA, SAP BW/4 HANA, SAP Fiori, SAP BTP, SAP HANA DB
Prior experience planning, installing and configuring SAP systems, databases, operating systems
Be a team player, motivated and well intentioned
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication (verbal/written), and teamwork abilities
Be willing to stay up‑to‑date with new technologies required to support our critical business functions
SAP‑certified candidates are preferred
