Base pay range $15.13/hr - $22.70/hr

By joining our Department of Highways/District 9/Administrative Section as a District Facilities Technician in Fleming County, you’ll have the opportunity to be responsible for the maintenance and repair of highway buildings, rest areas and related equipment throughout a specific highway district.
Summary Of Responsibilities
Installs, repairs or removes heating, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems.
Cleans equipment, changes filters, adds water or refrigerant, sets and repairs thermostats; lubricates blower system; repair leaks, unclogs drains and replaces plumbing fixtures and washers.
Coordinates work with Central Office Real Property for maintenance needs and expertise required for completion.
Performs carpentry work.
Installs, repairs and removes fuel pumps and works on grinder and sewage pump station.
Ideal Candidate Will Have Experience In
Building maintenance, skilled trade or mechanical maintenance experience.
Experience working with HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
Repairs for sewage treatment facilities.
Record keeping of equipment service and maintenance schedules.
Communication skills.

Additional Position Information Travel will be required throughout the district. This position is deemed essential and has been designated for mandatory operations.

Must have four years of building maintenance, skilled trades or mechanical maintenance experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:
Vocational or technical school training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.

Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of appointment in this classification. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification. Working Conditions Incumbents in this job title are required to travel throughout an assigned district.
