Job Description Depending on business needs, the Logistics Clerk may perform duties related to Receiving, Shipping, Inventory Control, and Kitting, as well as assist in training coworkers on these tasks. Cross‑training within the department is highly encouraged.
Essential Job Functions
Receiving duties: Manage receiving hold and inspection with Purchasing and Customer Service, keep the receiving area clean and organized at all times, unload and inspect incoming freight for damage, report any damages or shortages, maintain records of each incoming shipment, coordinate with Purchasing on purchase orders, coordinate with Quality and Customer Support, represent customers LRU’s, work with others in the department to ensure efficiency, rely on instructions and pre‑established guidelines, work under immediate supervision, operate forklift or hand truck when applicable.
Shipping duties: Ensure all parts or units are shipped out the same day to the proper location, check paperwork from Quality to ensure that it matches the parts to be shipped out, ensure proper packaging and handling for all parts and units, assure proper shipping services per the customer requests, identify what is restricted or not for DOT and ship hazardous materials appropriately, schedule the shipment’s pick up and arrange its transport to the loading platform, maintain records of each shipment, establish shipping rates and any other necessary charges, ensure that international shipments have the appropriate customs paperwork, respond to customer inquiries about the status of shipments, rely on instructions and pre‑established guidelines, work under immediate supervision.
Inventory Control duties: Perform cycle counts to ensure accuracy of inventory, transfer bins in the warehouse from one storage location to another, troubleshoot missing units and reconcile incorrect repair orders, pull stock for exchanges, assist in the shelf‑life management of all LRU parts, reprint labels for incorrect or damaged label on inventory, reconfigure warehouse to optimize space per management instruction.
Kitting Duties
Locates stock and delivers items to their destination upon request.
Ensures incoming deliveries are accurate and stocks supply room with new goods.
Checks order forms, delivery requests, and approval forms to ensure proper documentation, accuracy, and on time delivery.
Kits parts from repair orders and deliver them to production area, move or transport material or supplies to the shop floor.
Picks orders for production lines using computer generated pick lists.
Counts, sorts and prioritizes incoming articles to verify receipt of items.
Maintains integrity of inventory, locations, neatness and quantities.
Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications.
Escalates discovered issues in storage locations in the warehouse to Inventory Control/Management.
Executes assigned kitting list daily to 100 percent completion.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
At least 1 year of experience working in a stock room in a manufacturing environment.
Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
All applicants be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.
No relocation is provided for this position; only candidates residing within a 50 mile radius will be considered.
