Responsibilities
Proficiently operate at least three types of heavy equipment, including a backhoe, trackhoe, scraper, dozer, excavator, loader, rock truck, compactor, articulated truck, crusher, or motor grader, with or without GPS.
Fasten attachments to tractors with clevis or wedge pin hitches.
Connect hydraulic hoses, belts, mechanical linkages, or power takeoff shafts to tractors to provide power for raising, lowering, or tilting attachments.
Operate control levers and pedals to maneuver equipment and manage attachment operations while maintaining safety and precision.
Dig trenches and holes of specified dimensions, remove loosened material, and transport materials to piles or trucks.
Drive bulldozers to grade terrain to required specifications following grade stakes or hand signals.
Construct, grade, or pave new roadways, base courses, building pads, footing excavations, and water ponds, and properly slope and grade to specifications.
Move, level, and grade dirt, rocks, demolition concrete, and other materials in a fast-paced environment to meet production goals.
Demolish bridges and other structures with excavators and hydraulic hoe rams as needed.
Operate equipment within a Pipe Crew environment, such as an excavator or loader.
Maintain general housekeeping and light maintenance of equipment, report usage/utilization hours daily, and conduct routine equipment checks.
Work with GPS‑installed devices on dozers and motor graders when required.
Follow and promote all safety standards of Ralph L. Wadsworth and its projects.
Work weekend, holiday, and/or overtime work as project needs require.
Perform laborer work as required and other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements
Minimum 4 years of heavy equipment operating experience with multiple types of equipment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Willingness to perform laborer work.
Ability to work safely under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment.
Perform frequent gross body movements, such as bending, climbing into equipment, lifting (up to 75 lbs), twisting, standing, balancing, stooping, handling materials, and moving around hazardous sites.
Good eye‑to‑hand coordination and depth perception are required.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Flexible availability, including overtime and possible weekend or night shifts.
