American Politics, Senior Rank Faculty Position in Political Science Work type: University Tenure Line Location: Stanford University Categories: School of Humanities & Sciences

The Department of Political Science at Stanford University seeks candidates for a senior appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The preferred area of specialty is American Politics. Applicants must have demonstrated the ability to maintain a world‑class research program and commit to effective teaching and mentoring. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in a related field and will be expected to teach and advise students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The term of appointment is expected to begin on September 1, 2026.

Teaching and research statement (no more than three single‑spaced pages)

Teaching evaluations

Salary range for academic year 2025‑26: Associate Professor: $180,250 – $226,600 Professor: $257,500 – $360,500 Pay will be determined based on qualifications, budget, and internal equity.
