Responsibilities
Coach and direct each employee to assure maximum effort is being place on each account
Responsible for mortgage collections while assisting with forbearances and modifications
Assisting in sending out required letters on delinquent Mortgages
Responsible for in‑house assigned delinquent accounts according to collection procedures and credit union policies
Skip and track down debtors to meet contractual obligations
Responsible for collection and resolution of delinquent credit cards
Arrange and monitor check‑by‑phone payments
Assist with training and development of new employees
Assist with approvals of offset transfers and skip a pays
Reaffirmations for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and Proof of Claims for Chapter 13 bankruptcy; monitoring bankruptcy accounts
Process bankruptcy payments
Correspondence with credit union bankruptcy attorney
Degree of understanding legal documents
Resolve escalated account issues and answer escalated complaints
Counsel members with financial difficulties and offer alternative financial options to bring accounts current
Advise the Collection Manager on matters concerning delinquencies and collections
Work directly with all collection agencies and attorneys representing the Credit Union
Responsible for the monitoring of all bankruptcies received by the Credit Union and accurate maintenance of bankruptcy records
Responsible for collecting any remaining deficiency and foreclosure balances
Comply with established regulations and law requirements
Practice and bring to life with the team our “Yes And… culture
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Experience
Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in consumer collections
Skills, Education and / or Certifications Required
High school graduate or equivalent
Must have a working knowledge of current Windows OS and MS Office software
Must be capable of performing in a fast‑paced office environment
Must have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing, by telephone and in person, and understand individual member's financial problems
Must be able to prioritize tasks to accomplish objectives within desired time frames
Must be cognizant of laws and policies governing the conduct of this position
