Department Information The Department of History in the College of Arts and Humanities offers engaging programs rooted in historical inquiry, critical thinking, and global understanding. Students may pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees that emphasize hands‑on learning, archival research, public history, and digital humanities, preparing them for a wide range of careers and lifelong civic engagement.

Job Summary The Department of History is now accepting applications for part‑time faculty positions to support the undergraduate program in teaching surveys of United States and World History for the 2025–2026 academic year. Positions are on an as‑needed, semester‑by‑semester basis.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate courses in the Core IMPACTS areas (World History I and/or II and US History: A Comprehensive Survey).

Applicants may be asked to teach in various modalities (face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online).

Required Qualifications

Masters degree in History or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in History.

Classroom instruction experience in higher education.

Preferred Qualifications

Earned Ph.D. in History.

Ability to teach a variety of undergraduate courses.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Consistently exhibit engaging customer service.

Ability to support various constituencies served by the University.

Proven proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for the specific position.

Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support the University’s mission for student success.

Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills.
