Position Overview University of Tennessee, Knoxville Haslam College of Business Department of Management & Entrepreneurship invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions in Entrepreneurship at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Effective employment date August 1, 2026.

Department Background The Haslam College of Business is AACSB accredited with an endowment of $260 million. The Department of Management & Entrepreneurship offers undergraduate majors in Management and Human Resource Management, a master’s degree in management and human resources, two university minors (Entrepreneurship and Social Entrepreneurship), and the Ph.D. in Strategy, Entrepreneurship, & Organizations.

Qualifications Required

candidates must hold a Ph.D. from an accredited institution earned by August 1, 2026 and demonstrate evidence of quality scholarship and teaching effectiveness in Entrepreneurship or a related discipline.

Assistant Professor

candidates should show promise in developing a program in disciplinary research and scholarship gaining external recognition.

Associate Professor

candidates should be targeting leading journals, producing scholarly output enhancing professional reputations, and widely recognized contributors to their disciplines.

Preferred :

An ongoing program of research in premier refereed journals.

A desire to work with doctoral students.

The ability to overlap with and extend our faculty’s research interests.

An identifiable methodological skillset.

A record of demonstrated teaching success at an accredited institution.

For associate level: the ability and desire to teach and/or develop programming in graduate and executive education programs (GEE) such as the Masters of Science in Management and Human Resources, MBA, Executive MBA, Physicians Executive MBA, Aerospace and Defense MBA.

For assistant level: if future opportunity to teach and/or develop programming in GEE programs appeals, please include relevant background.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Engage in entrepreneurship research resulting in premier publications. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in entrepreneurship and/or innovation. Participate in professional activities and university service commensurate with faculty rank.
