Position Overview
The Department of Psychology and Sociology at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for a full‑time (9‑month), tenure‑track Assistant/Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology beginning fall 2025. The Psychology programs are among the largest in the College of Liberal Arts, with approximately 500 majors, 100 minors, and 40 graduate students. Teaching Responsibilities
Successful candidates will teach clinical psychology courses at the undergraduate and master’s level, including courses in psychological assessment, psychopathology, and psychotherapy. There may also be opportunities to develop courses in the applicant’s area of specialization. Full‑time, tenure‑track appointments receive a 3‑3 teaching load. Research and Service Expectations
Applicants should have a record of (or potential for) research productivity and a research agenda that suits TAMU‑CC and the community, including an interest in pursuing external funding. The successful candidate’s research activities will include mentoring student research and supervising master’s thesis students in our Clinical Psychology MA program. Applicants will also be expected to provide clinical supervision to master’s‑level students and actively engage in service to the department, college, university, and profession. Required Qualifications
Earned Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or School Psychology from an APA accredited program; degree must be conferred by the time of appointment. License eligible as a psychologist in the state of Texas at the time of appointment. To be considered for Associate Professor rank, a minimum of five (5) years of experience at the assistant professor or comparable rank is required. Preferred Qualifications
Licensed as a psychologist, preferably in the state of Texas. Experience and/or ability to teach/develop clinical courses at the master’s and undergraduate level. A record of or potential for research productivity and a research agenda suited to TAMU‑CC. Interest and/or experience in seeking external funding for research.
