Overview The Charter School of Wilmington is seeking an exceptional Science Teacher who is excited to share our mission of engaging students in a world‑class education that prepares them for college and beyond.

Execute a rigorous, standards‑aligned curriculum and adopt a data‑driven approach in assessing students’ progress.

Critical Experience and Qualifications
3+ years of teaching experience, with prior high school science classroom teaching strongly preferred.
Understanding of high school science standards preferred.
Demonstrated experience closing student opportunity gaps.
Commitment and enthusiasm for working with a high‑performing student population focused on implementing best practices related to community and cultural awareness.
Optimism, resilience, curiosity, and a strong passion for personal growth and student and teacher success.
Education Bachelor’s Degree in secondary education with a concentration in science or Bachelor’s Degree in science with education certification. Master’s Degree preferred.
Certification Requirements Hold or be eligible for Secondary Science Teacher certification. Details can be found here .
Salary Salary will be computed in accordance with the experience and training of the individual selected and in accordance with the salary schedules for employees of The Charter School of Wilmington. Direct deposit of payroll checks is mandatory for state employment, and employees are paid on a lag pay schedule with the first payment made after approximately one month of employment.
Notes A criminal background check, Delaware Child Protection Registry check, and tuberculin test are required. The candidate must demonstrate in the interview process an understanding of how varied student backgrounds and experiences can impact learning, along with the ability to support an inclusive and equitable classroom environment.
