Key Responsibilities

Execute a rigorous, standards-aligned integrated math curriculum and adopt a data-driven approach in assessing students’ progress.

Develop and implement engaging learning experiences, provide feedback, and assess students to demonstrate mastery.

Possess a relentless drive to develop your own instructional practice to sharpen your skills as an educator and incorporate feedback into your daily practice.

Exhibit strong self-awareness and reflection skills with a strong desire to collaborate and continuously grow professionally.

Adhere to departmental and school policies and procedures regarding grading and assessments.

Set and reach ambitious goals and demonstrate ability to thrive in a high-performing school environment.

Critical Experience and Qualifications

3+ years of teaching experience preferred.

Understanding of high school math standards required.

Demonstrated experience closing student opportunity gaps preferred.

Experience creating lessons, activities, and assessments aligned to curriculum and standards preferred.

Commitment and enthusiasm for working with a high-performing student population focused on implementing best practices related to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA).

Optimism, resilience, curiosity, and a strong passion for personal growth and student and teacher success.

Education Bachelor’s Degree in secondary education with a concentration in math or Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics with education certification. Master’s Degree preferred.

Certification Requirements Hold or be eligible for Secondary Math Teacher certification. Details can be found here .

Salary will be computed in accordance with the experience and training of the individual selected and in accordance with the salary schedules for employees of The Charter School of Wilmington. Direct deposit of payroll checks is mandatory for state employment, and employees are paid on a lag pay schedule with the first payment made after approximately one month of employment.

Notes A criminal background check, Delaware Child Protection Registry check, and tuberculin test are required. The candidate must demonstrate in the interview process an understanding of how varied student backgrounds and experiences can impact learning, along with the ability to support an inclusive and equitable classroom environment.
