This position provides customer -friendly, courteous, and informative services to the public and IRP customers, this position assists with customer facing IRP customers, completing the correct documents needed for opening new accounts and renewals. This position assists IRP customers with supplements, updating insurance, turning in license plates, collecting forms and payments for 2290’s (Federal Heavy Vehicle Use Tax), confirming payments, collecting payments for yearly renewals, For Hires and Supplements. Updating name changes for individuals and for business entities and transferring plates and/or title work. This position reviews City, State and Federal documents. This position explains the mandatory requirements for proof of residency requirements to customers. This position reviews fraudulent or altered materials. This position contacts utility companies to verify proof of residency. This position reviews lease agreements and insurance certificates to make sure that they are following IRP international requirements. This position responds to telephone and email inquiries from customers, insurance companies, the public and motor carrier authorities. This position processes incoming mail from customers and responds to renewal packets and submitted payments. This position reviews the websites of the North Carolina Secretary of State, Federal Motor Safety Administration and cross-referencing the USDOT and Motor Carrier numbers. This position requires responding to customer inquiries regarding Unified Carrier Registration (UCR) and International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) and providing customers with contact information that they will need for said matters. This position maintains a detailed and accurate accounting of all checks, money order and credit/debit cards transactions. This position balances and reconciles a cash drawer at the end of every workday. This position conducts all title work and all other transactions pursuant to the Motor Vehicle General Statutes, DMV rules and regulations, and the Privacy Protection Act. This position receives and reviews in state and out of state finances packages that are utilized by IRP customers to purchase/lease motor vehicles.

To perform the above-stated tasks and responsibilities, this position requires technical and administrative skills, and an extensive knowledge of the North Carolina General Statute’s, policies and procedures, and regulations that govern the issuance of a North Carolina title, as well as other credentials.

The program area for this position includes one or more of the following: working knowledge of the International Registration Plan Unit, experience working with vehicle title and registrations, DMV customer service experience, and/or experience applying and/or explaining Motor Vehicle General Statues and DMV rules and regulations.**Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences**Salary Grade and Salary Range:
