Lead Curriculum & Assessment Designer – New York, NY
Position Summary
The Lead Curriculum & Assessment Designer is responsible for the design, alignment, and continuous improvement of the Early Childhood Curriculum for PreK3 and PreK4 programs. This role ensures full compliance with the New York State Prekindergarten Learning Standards (2021), Science of Reading principles, and RCSD instructional expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Design and oversee curriculum scope, sequence, and instructional frameworks for ages 3–5
Ensure curriculum alignment to NYSED standards and UPK grant requirements
Develop formative and summative assessments aligned to curriculum objectives
Create standards crosswalks and documentation for district review
Collaborate with PD staff to integrate assessment-driven instruction
Review data trends and recommend curriculum refinements
Qualifications
Doctorate or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or Literacy
Minimum 10–15 years of curriculum and assessment design experience
Demonstrated expertise in Science of Reading and early literacy development
Experience working with large urban school districts and CBOs
Compensation: $130.00 per hour
