Florida State University is a leading public university. FSU Panama City offers 20 bachelor’s programs, 9 master’s programs, and 1 doctoral program with a favorable faculty‑to‑student ratio, located 100 miles west of Tallahassee.
Responsibilities
Serving as a core faculty member in the Biomedical Sciences program.
Teaching undergraduate biology courses, including lower‑level courses in the Undergraduate Studies curriculum and upper‑level courses focused on Anatomy and Physiology and other biomedical subjects.
Providing mentorship, advising, and support to students.
Engaging in course and curriculum development, including laboratory management.
Working with campus and community partners to promote the new program and engage with local health initiatives.
Collaborating with colleagues at FSU Tallahassee in the College of Medicine and Biology Department for course coordination and committee service.
Being an engaged faculty member for the FSU Panama City Campus.
Qualifications
Doctorate degree in Biology, Medicine, or a related field with qualifications to teach biology courses (e.g., Ph.D. in Biology, MD, or DO).
ABD candidates and those holding a Master’s Degree in Biology with a different related doctoral degree will also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in university teaching and clinical practice in health‑related settings.
Capability to teach a range of biology courses, including Biology 1 & 2, Anatomy and Physiology, and electives such as genetics, molecular biology, developmental biology, and immunology.
Strong record of quality teaching and ability to mentor pre‑health students toward future careers.
Other Information FSU Panama City is offering a new degree program in Biomedical Sciences in collaboration with the FSU College of Medicine. The program provides an embedded experiential curriculum preparing students for pre‑health and pre‑medical graduate programs.
