Job Description The State of Connecticut, Department of Correction (DOC) is expanding its Religious Services Department and hiring Spanish Speaking Protestant Chaplains to provide spiritual services to incarcerated people in Connecticut.

Full‑time position, first shift schedule, 35 hours per week with flexible schedule based on program and facility needs

Required to attend the 14‑week Training Academy in Cheshire, CT
Responsibilities
Work with various offender populations conducting religious services in state facilities
Administer rites and sacraments
Prepare and preach sermons
Conferring with visiting clergy
Counsel individuals and their families
Collaborate with facility staff on religious concerns that may arise
Meet the needs of the department, including providing worship services during holidays

Qualifications & Requirements
Graduation from an accredited three‑year postgraduate theological seminary or a Master of Divinity degree or its equivalent
Completion of all formal religious training required by a recognized religious denomination necessary to perform the pastoral role
One (1) year of pastoral experience or equivalent experience within a recognized religious denomination
