About the Role:
We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator (EHS) to join a dynamic organization in the aerospace and manufacturing sector. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental compliance of the company’s operations. As the EHS Coordinator, you’ll lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs and policies that align with federal, state, and local safety standards (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and manage Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and programs.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date chemical inventory and hazardous waste documentation (including manifests and chain-of-custody records).
Supervise contractors handling hazardous materials and coordinate testing, transportation, and treatment of such materials.
Ensure company compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other relevant environmental regulations.
Conduct regular safety training, including seminars, webinars, and onboarding for new hires.
Review and revise safety protocols and the company handbook in collaboration with Human Resources.
Perform risk assessments and support the implementation of preventative safety measures.
Investigate accidents, identify root causes, and generate actionable reports for mitigation.
Collaborate with management on the implementation of safety procedures and emergency preparedness drills.
Assist with workers’ compensation documentation and support HR in processing claims.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar Health & Safety role.
Strong knowledge of environmental regulations related to hazardous materials and waste.
Aerospace Industry Experience required.
OSHA 30 certification and Hazardous Waste Training (required).
Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.
Certification in Occupational Health & Safety is a strong asset.
Proficiency in MS Office; experience using safety management systems preferred.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead training sessions and communicate safety protocols effectively.
