Overview Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the Assistant Nurse Manager provides leadership and oversight across all shifts for assigned nursing units.
Responsibilities
Clinical supervision of assigned staff, including time and attendance management, performance evaluations, corrective actions, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.
Coordination of unit operations in collaboration with other departments to ensure effective and efficient patient care across all age groups.
Active participation on hospital committees as assigned.
In partnership with the Director of Nursing, accountable for achieving quality outcomes, enhancing patient satisfaction, managing fiscal responsibilities, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
May assume the duties of the Director of Nursing as directed or in their absence.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Strong demonstration of clinical knowledge and skills: Must have good oral, written, and interpersonal skills along with strong analytical and organizational skills.
Experience
Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in a related area of nursing.
Previous healthcare management experience preferred.
Licensure or Certification Current RN license in the state of Ohio.
Physical and Environmental Demands
Requires a full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients; manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination.
Standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Working under periods of high stress.
