EHS Manager – US Modules The EHS Manager develops and implements effective EHS programs and policies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. This role leads daily site-level EHS operations, drives a proactive safety culture, and works cross-functionally with other departments to mitigate risk and promote continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive EHS roadmap, policies, and procedures in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements, fostering a culture of proactive safety behaviors.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, relevant state environmental agencies, and other regulatory organizations.

Develop and implement proactive behavioral‑based safety programs that drive a safety culture.

Identify EHS training needs and coordinate site safety training programs.

Manage an effective and timely safety incident process, including root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.

Oversee internal and external EHS audit programs, conducting health and safety inspections, audits, and surveys/assessments with risk management and closed‑loop corrective actions.

Engage site employees to monitor conditions and ensure compliance for PPE, machine guarding, fire safety, and all permit requirements.

Manage the site chemical‑use program, from approval to disposal, and maintain records, safety data sheets, and reporting documents.

Oversee contractor safety programs, including pre‑qualification, orientation, and monitoring.

Develop comprehensive equipment safety programs (lockout/tagout, machine guarding).

Establish, monitor, and report on EHS metrics, providing timely, thorough, and accurate records and reporting.

Prepare management dashboards and trend analysis to build continuous improvement plans.

Review process changes and new equipment from an EHS standpoint (Management of Change).

Develop and lead site Emergency Response Plans and teams for related incidents.

Develop and implement policies and procedures for site and product certification with external agencies (ISO).

Oversee the medical management program for the site, including medical case management and return‑to‑work processes.

Skills and Abilities

Strong knowledge of OSHA (29 CFR 1910), EPA, state regulations, and industry best practices.

Excellent analytical problem‑solving skills and knowledge of EHS tools for analysis (FMEA, RCA).

Strong sense of responsibility, highly motivated, forward‑thinking, and servant leadership.

Communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and sites.

Knowledge of ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 9001:2015 management system practices.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in an EHS‑related field, preferably with 5 years of manager‑level responsibility.

Manufacturing experience, particularly highly automated, high‑volume manufacturing, is a plus.

Experience developing and leading behavioral‑based safety programs that engage the workforce and drive a proactive safety culture.
