Base pay range $61,860.00/yr - $84,265.00/yr

This is a full-time, 9-Month, 24-pay, Teaching Faculty position with full state benefits. Blue Ridge Community College is seeking a full-time, 9-month nursing faculty. The two-year Associate Degree program is designed to prepare students educationally as contributing members of the health team, rendering direct patient care as beginning practitioners of nursing in various health services facilities. The Associate Degree Nursing Program at BRCC is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing (VABON). All nursing courses are delivered in person, at the Weyers Cave location. All courses contain supplemental online components. Clinical instruction is delivered at a variety of locations and may include day, evening, or weekend instruction.
In 2023 and 2024, BRCC’s nursing program achieved its two highest years of NCLEX pass rates in at least the past 15 years! This achievement was made possible by a dedicated faculty team, strong curriculum, and student dedication.

This position offers a schedule to enable a healthy work-life balance by being off during the summers, and having time off during each semester break and around the holidays.
This position includes instruction focusing on client care across the lifespan in a variety of settings. BRCC delivers a concept-based curriculum which offers faculty the opportunity to teach a variety of content. This position includes didactic, clinical, lab, and simulation instruction.
Blue Ridge Community College faculty are expected to participate in scholarly engagement, professional development which includes teaching pedagogy, institutional responsibility, and community service to both the campus and surrounding communities. Candidates selected for interview will need to facilitate a teaching demonstration as part of the interview process.
KSA's/Required Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Nursing or current enrollment in an MSN program
Current license or a multistate licensure privilege to practice nursing in Virginia as a registered nurse (or eligibility to obtain immediate licensure), without any disciplinary action that currently restricts practice
Minimum of two years of experience in direct patient care as a registered nurse
Dedication to teaching and awareness of the community college mission
Additional Considerations:
Previous teaching experience
Recent acute care experience in a hospital setting
Labor and delivery/obstetric experience
Use of instructional technologies
