ASTD13 Location of Position \ MDH Dorchester County Health Department 627 Race Street Cambridge, MD 21613 Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this full-time position is to complete SUD assessments, identify client needs, provide screenings, individual and group counseling, and case management services for individuals requiring SUD services or who fit DSM‑V criteria for substance use, gambling disorders, or mental health disorders. The position continuously monitors clients' treatment appropriations, prepares toxicology screens, and performs all functions under close supervision. This role directly supports the agency's mission to provide quality SUD treatment. Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Certified Supervised Counselors – Alcohol and Drug. Experience:
Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Certified Supervised Counselors – Alcohol and Drug. Licenses, Registrations and Certifications
Eligible for and obtain certification by the Board of Professional Counselors as a Certified Supervised Counselor – Alcohol and Drug prior to permanent appointment. May be required to operate a motor vehicle; requires a valid Maryland motor vehicle operator's license. Special Requirements
Subject to substance abuse testing per Maryland Regulation 17.04.09. Perform work at a Joint Commission or a Maryland State certified addictions program. Selection Process
