Job Summary The Administrative Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the administrative functions of the department. The Administrative Coordinator manages a variety of areas including fiscal, logistical, faculty affairs, and all incoming inquiries into the department. The coordinator serves as the sole administrative and executive support person for the Department Head, monitors all internal and external deadlines, and acts as the principal point of contact and liaison with internal and external constituencies.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Department Head with academic and faculty affairs: organize faculty recruitment visits, coordinate faculty elections, prepare meeting agendas, and maintain records.
Serve as the Assistant to the Department Head: manage travel, prepare expense reports, coordinate events, and act as the representative at meetings.
Oversee and manage day‑to‑day departmental activities: implement policies, maintain records, handle front office duties, and submit departmental requests to the Business Office.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of related experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Organizational and computer proficiency in university systems (OneUSG, UGAMart, UGA Financial Management System) and standard office software (Word, Excel).
Physical Demands Standard for a typical office environment.
Background Investigation Offers of employment are contingent upon completion of a background investigation including a criminal background check, credential verification, and a satisfactory credit check. Pre‑employment drug testing may be required for high‑risk responsibilities.
