We are looking for an experienced Utility Pipe Crew Foreman to join our growing team. This is a working Foreman position leading a 3–6-person crew installing underground utilities including sanitary sewer mains and laterals, storm sewer piping/precast structures/detention systems, water mains and water service lines.
Job Summary: A Pipe Foreman supervises and works on the layout, assembly, and installation of various types and sizes of underground utility infrastructure. As a Pipe Foreman, you will lead a team in overseeing construction projects, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, and managing project timelines and budgets. With core skills in OSHA compliance, project scheduling, and construction management, you will supervise and coordinate activities on construction sites effectively. Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, and Outlook will be needed for daily job reporting and project communication. Additionally, your relevant skills in blueprint reading, quality control, and construction estimating will contribute to the successful completion of pipeline projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate heavy equipment to excavate, install and backfill large pipe and culverts
Study project specifications with Superintendent to plan procedures for pipe installation sequencing
Responsible for the management and safety of pipe crew
Inspect work site to determine sequencing and method of pipe installation and survey for potential hazard or safety concerns
Manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints
Utilize construction management software to track progress and allocate resources efficientlyOversee quality control measures to ensure compliance with project specifications
Enforce company policies
Use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, eye levels and transit levels to set appropriate grade for pipe installation
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years’ experience supervising installation of pipe and culvert on heavy civil projects
Current OSHA 30 or greater
Outstanding organizational and time management skills
Excellent management and leadership skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Positive, team-oriented attitude
GPS Topcon experience a plus
Must be able to set your own grade lasers, pipe lasers, transit, etc.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Site utility work: 5 years (Required)
Heavy equipment operation: 5 years (Required)
