Job Description - Services Coordinator Generalist (25000890)
The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is excited to offer a career growth opportunity to a motivated and talented individual for the Human Services Coordinator I (HSC I) position in the Plymouth Area Office. The Human Service Coordinator I is the primary contact for individuals and families served by the Department and is expected to effectively represent the Area Office by building respectful and collaborative partnerships with individuals, families, guardians, provider agencies and other stakeholder groups involved in the work of the Area Office and Department.
Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor DDS funded and auxiliary funded programs.
Maintain regular contact with individuals, families, and providers.
Travel to individuals' homes, programs, and outside meetings; that may or may not be in close proximity to the Area Office.
Coordinate, facilitate, and monitor the development and progress of support plans per DDS regulations.
Utilize the communication methods needed for assigned caseloads.
Provide outreach and coordinate referrals to community services and other state agencies.
Maintain up-to-date record keeping – both electronic and hard copy; maintain documentation for waiver or non-waiver services.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Microsoft programs and Home and Community Services Information System (HICSIS).
Experience working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and/or who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
Ability to develop and maintain respectful, caring, patient, ethical, and empowering relationships with families and individuals supported by the department.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to utilize American Sign Language and/or bilingual skills.
Skills using communication styles and/or augmentative communication systems.
Please Note This position is located at 38 Industrial Park Road, Plymouth MA 02360
Full‑time – 37.5 hour weekly position. Monday through Friday – 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Days off – Sunday and Saturday. Flexibility with the work schedule is required.

Applicants must have at least three (3) years of full‑time or equivalent part‑time, professional experience in human services work or social work, or an equivalent combination of experience and educational substitution:
• A Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field may substitute for two (2) years of the required experience.
• A Bachelor's degree or higher in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, or related fields is required for the role of Qualified Intellectual Disabled Professional.
